Hong Kong Disneyland opened September 12, 2005. The park is Disney’s
fifth “Magic Kingdom”-style park, and the company’s first theme park in
China and in a major expansion plan, with a Toy Story land opening in 2011,
a Frontierland-style “Grizzly Gulch” land opening in 2013, and “Mystic
Point,” featuring a Haunted Mansion-type dark ride, debuting in 2013.
Hong Kong Disneyland is located on Lantau Island, surrounding by
mountains at three sides and facing the South China Sea. It is currently occupies 22.4 hectares (55 acres); it will be expanded to 27.5 hectares (68 acre
s)when three new themed areas are completed. After the expansion, the
park is expected to handle 7.92 million to 8.92 million visitors
annually. The park capacity will increase to handle up to 10 million
visitors annually over a 15-year expansion period.
There are four theme areas in the Hong Kong Disneyland Park, namely, the
Main Street, U.S.A, Adventure World, Fantastic World and Tomorrow
World; all of them may bring you numerous fun and wonderful experience. But, before entering the park, you can take some travel brochures like Park
Guidance and Activity arrangements at the customer service center at the
left side of the entrance, which may help you a lot to arrange your
time and activities.
The park has a daily capacity of 34,000 visitors and will increase when the new expansion are complete.
