STONEHENGE - ENGLAND



Stonehenge is an enigmatic prehistoric monument located on a chalky plain north of the modern day city of Salisbury, England. Age estimated at 3100 BC and type of stone  is Bluestone, Sarsen, Welsh Sandstone
Worship Lunar, Solar. its also one of the World Heritage Site of over 2000 hectares that is considered one of the most archaeologicaly rich in Europe and contains some 200 scheduled monuments.



Walking across the grassland, visitors can discover other prehistoric monuments, including the Avenue and King Barrow Ridge with its Bronze Age burial mounds. and the best approach to the famous stone circle is across Normanton Down, a round barrow cemetery dates from around 2600 to 1600BC.


Access English Heritage - There is a charge for tourists or visitors to visit the stones. Extra notes Except on special or arranged occasions, visitors are unable to walk amongst the stones. Stonehenge was constructed in three phases and it has been estimated that the three phases of the construction required more than thirty million hours of labour. there a speculation on the reason it was built range from human sacrifice to astronomy.


It is also the site of one of the biggest Chalk grassland reversion projects in the world.  


Other than stonehenge, the visitor also can visit another places that close to the stonehenge, so it is fortunate for the tourist who choose to visit this place.

There are millions of people come from all over the world to visit Stonehenge. Stonehenge in one word can be described as impressive. You can spend all day at Stonehenge if you like, it is beautiful when the sun rises and beautiful when the sun sets. Both show the colours of the bluestones and sarsen stones with different hues if you'll look closely.
